It Takes Two

One of the best co-op games I've ever played. It's a game made for two people to play together from beginning to end, and it really makes the most of that idea. You see the screen split in two during 99% of time, and each of you has a different role, with unique abilities that change in every chapter. This makes the game super fun and fresh all the time. You really need to communicate and work as a team - it's not just doing the same actions at the same time.
The story is about a couple going through a rough time in their relationship, which is something more for adults, but the way the game tells it is very fun and emotional. Kids will enjoy it a lot - my 8yo son and I played together and had a blast. We both laughed a lot, especially because of Dr. Hakim, the talking book. He's a very funny character and quickly became our favorite. Also, the mini-games in each chapter are great! They're not just something small or lazy - they're really well made and worth playing.
The visuals are beautiful, and the level design is super creative. Each chapter has its own theme and ideas, and you can feel how much work and love the developers put into the game. That said, one small downside is that some chapters (like Rose's Room) felt a bit too long. Also, while there are many bosses throughout the game, there's no big final boss at the end. I thought that was fine and matched the story, but my son felt a bit disappointed - he wanted one last big challenge to "win" the game properly.
In the end, I honestly think it's a fantastic game. I tried to think of a reason not to give it a 10 out of 10, but even though it doesn't have the same magic as something like Mario or AstroBot, it gets really close. I already can't wait to play Split Fiction, which is the recently released co-op game from the same creators!
